Love me some Photoshop (Before)

Here's my daughter in the "before" shot.

Love me some Photoshop (After)

This is a photo of my daughter AFTER I worked on it in Photoshop.

Decorated Dresser

My latest craft project. I used Mod Podge to decorate the front of my daughter's dresser drawers with scrapbook paper. This was very easy, cheap, quick, and (I think) turned out pretty snazzy.

Skies

I don't know if anyone else has noticed how beautiful the sky has been lately. I don't know if it's everywhere or just here in Northwest Arkansas. Sunrises, sunsets, storm clouds, whispy white puffs...

I love my camera(s)

I am all about instant gratification. And photography is a creative hobby where that is almost possible. Point, click, upload, edit. Voila. Something that makes me smile.

Wizard Hats

I made Wizard Hats for Sam's Harry Potter party out of sugar cones, blue frosting, and candy stars. We served the cookie cake with a scoop of ice cream topped with a hat. So fun!

The Garden

This beauty is growing in my backyard! I love asparagus. Unfortunately, you have to grow it for three years before it's harvestable. This is year #2 for me. But isn't it amazing anyway? I love watching them sprout up overnight and then grow into monster asparagi.

The Bag

This is the first of my "Rock Star Casual" fashion entries. This is my ultimate bag. It's a B Makowsky that I got at TJ Maxx for about $100. I like it b/c it's casual but has a little bit of Rock Star detailing in the hardware and stitching. It's also lightweight and holds a lot more than it looks like it does. I have an obsession with bags... so you'll probably see more.

My Man

This is me with my husband, Jay. We're coming up on 14 years of marriage. And it gets better every year. This is a self portrait taken at New Life Ranch - one of our favorite spots.

My Boy

My boy turned 8 on Thursday. He was about 6 months old in this picture. He still lets me smooch on him a little, thank God! I wish I could have one more day with him as a baby, and at age 3. I love this guy - then and now. He makes me smile every day.

The Tat

OK - I had a request from a really cool chick for tips on how to achieve Rock Star Casual style. Here's a good place to start. Adam at AAA Tattoo in Rogers is awesome!

Spring Break 09

I took my kids down to DFW for a little fun and culture over Spring Break. We did The Modern art museum in Fort Worth (photo: giant echo tower), the Fort Worth Zoo, The Asian Art Museum, The Dallas Museum of Art, and the King Tut exhibit. Good times, great kids!

Harry Potter

Welcome to my blog. Keep in mind, I'm new at this. I'm sure it will get much cooler as we go. Here's the invitation I just did for Sam's 8th birthday party - Harry Potter theme.

Ice Storm Blessing II

With three kids in one room and no light at night things got a bit tedious. We resorted to charging the Nintendos in the car once. But then I pulled out my embroidery floss, hoops, and needles and we had some fun. I taught all three of my kids to "needlepoint". No fancy stitches, just up and down. But I traced and they stitched. I was one proud mama.

Ice Storm Blessings

I survived the Arkansas ice storm of '09. Barely. We lost power for 3 days and roughed it in front of the gas fireplace for two of them. Then the garbage disposal started to stink (bet you hadn't thought of that) and we hightailed it to our friends' house where power had been restored. The whole thing was fun at first, then very tiring. The landscape looked Seuss-ish as all the trees sagged with the weight of the ice.
